30 Years Ago... everyone was partying to “People Everyday” by Arrested Development, or as Headliner puts it, we were all in the midst of a celebration, a celebration of life, death, and the struggle of our ancestors.
“People Everyday’ - they called it “People Everyday” so people wouldn’t confuse it with Sly’s “Everyday People”, but really that just made it more confusing - is a funky little story by Speech, Arrested Development leader, loud bright colour wearing fashion misfit and most definitely not Ice Cube…
Speech is on a date. His date is going great. His soul is at ease. But then they get rudely interrupted! What will happen next?
I want to avoid spoilers so let’s skip to the moral of the story…
“The moral of the story is
You better look very hard at who you step into
'Cause you might get killed, or shot, and it's not worth it
Hey, you know, you know, you know, you know, hit it!”
Even when discussing street violence Arrested Development liked to finish on positive note!
“People Everyday” is if nothing else, the Greatest Ever Party Song to both begin and end with the faint sound of chickens and other farm animals.
“People Everyday” is a 9.
