20 Years Ago… the world was feeling things because Coldplay’s “The Scientist” was on the radio… A LOT!
Coldplay shouldn’t have been rock stars. Coldplay were every day, normal people. Seemingly amongst the most every day, normal people in rock. But they dreamt big. Real big. A sentimental piano ballad by a shy sentimental poet should not sound so epic. A regular guy, thinking about girls and feeling sad should not sound so grandiose. A song by a regular guy, thinking about girls and feeling sad should also probably not be called something so pretentious as “The Scientist.” Coldplay sure had a way of making little things feel important.
Coldplay provided big soundtracks to our little lives. If
you are ever coming up to meet somebody who doesn’t know how lovely they are
& tell them you’re sorry, you could definitely do worse than popping in
your headphones before walking up in slow-motion. Preferably backwards.
